70th INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

The 70th Independence Day Celebration was celebrated with great reverence and respect to national leaders at Annai Veilankanni’s College for Women, Saidapet, on 15/08/2016 at its premises.

Thiru. M. Subramaniam, M.L.A., Saidapet Constituency and Former Mayor of Chennai Corporation was the Chief Guest. He, in his speech mentioned that perseverance and hard work are essential for success and students must inculcate the same within themselves. Dr. S. Devaraj, Founder-Chairman, Annai Veilankanni’s Group of Educational Institutions, welcomed the gathering and presided over the function.

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. Various cultural programmes were organized to arouse everyone’s patriotic feeling towards our Mother Land.

Dr. D. Dev Anand, Secretary, Annai Veilankanni’s Group of Educational Institutions, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. M. Thilakavathy, Principal, and Mrs. K. Adlin Deva Sugin, Vice-Principal of the College graced the occasion.
